Is the microwave oven dangerous?

MicrowaveThere are tons of theories on the hazards of microwave oven use. Scientist of all the world have studied the effect of microwave cooking and many of them came up with the same theory: microwave cooking could be dangerous as it changes the conditions of molecular cells.

In the USA more than 90% of people have a microwave oven in their kitchen, in the UK almost 70%. Are all those people risking so much when they come back from home and put their plate of lasagne to cook in that small metalled box? Well nobody can answer the question with certainty.

What I personally thought the first time that someone told me that microwave is dangerous is that “if microwave ovens were really harmful, our government would never allow them on the market!” But can I really think this way? How many things are harmful in our world that is allowed by the law?

Before I continue I would like to say that no FDA or officially released government studies have proven current microwaving usage to be harmful.

Let’s take a step backwards. How does a microwave oven cook our food?

It’s all a matter of molecular friction. Microwaves bombard our food making a big internal rotation of all the molecular cells (they rotate million of times a second at the same frequency) that creates a big friction worming up and cooking the food. This way of cooking food is completely different from the traditional cooking method, where heat is envolved.

Lot’s of studies have shown that this method of cooking can change the DNA of molecular cells making them dangerous (carcinogenic).

Also, the build-up of steam in a closed container, such as a baby bottle, could cause it to explode. Heating the bottle in a microwave can cause slight changes in the milk. In infant formulas, there may be a loss of some vitamins.
In expressed breast milk, some protective properties may be destroyed. Warming a bottle by holding it under tap water, or by setting it in a bowl of warm water, then testing it on your wrist before feeding may take a few minutes longer, but it is much safer.”

Microwaves can cause slight changes in milk? Did I read correctly? What type of changes? Maybe nothing to worry about it in the short term, but what about in the long term?

Caffeine Boost Brain Capacity

Although more research is need to determine if the effects of caffeine on memory, said an Austrian researcher, in 12 adults, from 15, who participated in the survey, caffeine boosted brain activity related to attention and short-term memory.

We all must have felt the effects of taking a strong espresso! And we all know that in most people, drinking coffee can lead to difficulties of sleeping. So what would be the ideal amount of caffeine to get optimum performance from memory? The dose of caffeine used in the study was 100 milligrams. This is approximately the amount of 8 cups of coffee taken at once.

Participants were instructed to avoid caffeine for 12 hours and nicotine for four hours before the study. They were tested twice – once with caffeine and once with a placebo. The tests were made with one or two days apart. Participants had the brain scanned and stimulating by verbal memory tests. Some participants that did not remember their childhood teacher’s name or their first phone number of the apartment had to recall a handful of cards shown 20 minutes earlier.
