Achieving Fresh Look For Oily Skin

Oily skin can make you feel uncomfortable while using skin care products. It is a common skin condition, which happens when the natural production of sebum increases in the skin. The excessively generated oily substance, sebum, causes blocked skin pores, accumulated dead cells and development of pimples/acne on the skin surface.

To avoid spoiling your looks, you must take care of oily skin by removing the excess sebum from it. Start by using a cleanser that contains salicylic acid to reduce sebum production in the body. While it is not possible to remove oil from the skin completely, you must do cleansing two times in a day to keep looking and feeling fresh.

The market is brimming with skin care products for every skin type. If you have oily skin, make sure that you use oil-free substances. Opt for ‘oily skin care’ products rather than items that will suit all skin types. For mildly oily skin, even the regular skin care products give satisfactory results. Along with cleansing, your oily skin can benefit from toning with an alcohol based product.

When you have settled into a routine of daily cleansing and toning to maintain your oily skin, the next step is to start moisturizing it. Buy an oil-free, mild moisturizer that has no wax or lipid to make your skin smooth and supple. Another option is to use a clay mask instead of moisturizer to keep your skin oil-free.

As you explore and compare various alternatives for oily skin care, you will eventually find the right products for your skin type. If you are not getting good results with these steps, consult a dermatologist. They may recommend stronger products to overcome oily skin troubles and get the desired results without harming the skin.

Simple Steps for Skin Care

For any person, skin care is a critical part of feeling and looking healthy. Different people have different skin care routines. While some like to get professional service for beautifying their skin, others prefer to indulge in facials, cleansing, scrubs, etc. In spite of the dozens of advertisements encouraging you to use new skin care products, you need to develop your own skin care routine. This will yield the best results.

Firstly, you need to identify your skin type as normal, sensitive, oily or dry. To start a routine, you need to purchase skin care products that work well and match your skin type. Otherwise, you will not be satisfied. Normally, it is enough to follow the steps given below for effective skin care:

  • Cleansing: To begin with, use warm water to clean your skin. Make sure that cleansing is not done with very hot or very cold water to prevent damage. Basically, cleansers consist of water, oil and surfactants. The dirt is removed through oil and surfactant and water washes it. Hence, shopping for soap-free cleansers that don’t harm the skin and work well with your body is the key to proper skin care.
  • Exfoliation: The second step is to get rid of dead cells and renew the skin. Exfoliation helps in maintaining the skin’s natural process of continuation. People with normal or oily skin should always exfoliate after cleansing. This needs to be undertaken 4-5 times in a week. On the other hand, people with dry or sensitive skin should not exfoliate their skin more than twice a week.
  • Moisturizing: Apply a moisturizer right after taking a bath or shower. This is essential for people with all skin types. The function of moisturizers is to attract moisture to your skin and lock it in. Along with moisturizers, sunscreens must be used with in-built UV protection or SPF.

These three steps are sure to work for every individual. However, you must consult a dermatologist if you have any skin disorders.

How to sunbathe safely

sunbatheIt’s summer time and probably most of you are ready for a nice and warm vacation in some hot and sunny destination. Italy, Spain, France or maybe Greece…

It doesn’t really matter where you go, the important thing is that at your return your skin will not be ill or burnt.

So with this article I want to give 5 simple advices on how so sunbathe without risking the health of your skin:

1) If you are in Italy or in any southern Europe country don’t sunbathe in midday. The sun at that time is really dangerous.

Sunset2) Start sunbathing for only 2-3 minute for each side of the body and than gradually increase the day later. Don’t sunbathe for more then 20 minutes the first day.

3) Use always a good sun protection cream.

4) Be careful when you are inside water (sea or lake). Many think that they will be protected from the sun. This is not true. Water will even enhance the sunbathing power. So always ware a waterproof cream.

5) Never fall asleep while sunbathing or you will risk to wake up completely burnt!

Any other advice? Feel free to leave your comment, and have a great vacation!
